Quick Actions
People & Contacts
Add each person once, then connect them to the household, trusted roles, school information, or plans where they belong. · About 10–15 min
Leave any field blank and come back later — your information stays private on this device.
Household & Family
Add yourself, household members, children, relatives, friends, neighbors, and caregivers.
How People & Contacts works
Add each person once. Then assign the roles they actually have. The same person can be family, an emergency contact, a caregiver, or your trusted person without being entered again.
People named in your legal documents
Use this to record the people already named in your signed documents. Choosing a name here does not give that person legal authority.
Home & Property
Where things are, how to get in, and who to call. Start with the address, spare key, alarm instructions, and shutoffs — that's enough to be useful. Add vehicles, pets, and other details when you're ready. · About 5 min to start
Fill in what you know. Skip anything that doesn't apply — even just the address and a spare key location makes a real difference.
A parent's home or another separate household belongs in .
Add your home
Record the address and the essentials someone would need to get in and help.
Tip: Start with the spare key, alarm instructions, and utility shutoffs.
Documents
Record where important papers live and how your trusted person can reach them. You do not have to upload private documents. · About 10 min
Start with where the original is kept. Life on Track records locations and access notes — it does not create, validate, or replace legal documents. Even "fireproof box in the office closet" is more useful than nothing.
Other Documents
Do not see the document type you need above? Add as many other documents as you need and give each one its own clear label.
No document locations added yet
Record where important originals are kept — nothing is uploaded. Start with a will, advance directive, deed, or insurance policy.
Accounts
Start with Accounts: a private map of who to call, where statements live, and what exists. Bills, insurance, documents, and important dates stay in the tabs above. Do not record passwords or PINs here. The last 4 digits of an account number are usually enough. · About 20 min for a complete map
Add your first account
Create a private map of the institution, who to call, and where statements are kept. No balance is needed.
Tip: Use only partial account numbers or "last 4 digits" when helpful.
Income & Benefits
Money coming in — Social Security, pensions, annuities, VA benefits, a paycheck, rental income. If something happens to you, your family's first question is "what income continues, what stops, and who do I call?" This answers it. No account numbers needed — who pays it, where it lands, and who to notify.
Add an income source
Record who pays it and who to call if it needs to stop or transfer. No amount is needed.
Tip: Start with a paycheck, Social Security, or a pension.
Taxes at a Glance
One file that answers "how do taxes work in this house?" An executor needs the last few years of returns almost immediately; a surviving spouse mid-year needs to know if estimated payments are due.
This list contains only professionals in this household. Selecting one does not replace what you type below.
Looking for Bills & Services?
Open the dedicated Bills & Services section for payment contacts, due dates, and keep-running or cancel-later choices.
Bills & Services
Keep recurring payments, providers, schedules, and safe account hints together. This is the one place to add or edit them; Trusted Person Plan shows a short summary. Full account numbers remain in your private household file.
Mortgage or rent, utilities, insurance premiums, subscriptions, and other payments.
Recurring Services
Cleaners, lawn care, pest control, pool service, grooming, HVAC, and anyone else who comes on a schedule.
Dates
Track passports, licenses, registrations, insurance renewals, warranties, and other dates that are easy to miss. Dates that are overdue or due within 90 days are marked here, and the number in the menu counts them. Life on Track does not send reminders for these dates; to get reminders on your phone or computer, use Export to Calendar. · About 10 min
Add what matters to you — skip anything that doesn't apply.
Insurance
A simple overview of your policies — life, health, home, auto, umbrella, and more. Record who the insurer is, where the policy is kept, and who your agent is. This area is designed for location and contact details; review what you enter before sharing or storing a copy. · About 10 min
Add the policies you have and skip the rest. Even your life and home policies are a great start.
Where coverage belongs: Put each person's health insurance in their People & Contacts details. Put homeowners, auto, and property coverage with the relevant home or property when applicable. Put life insurance here. Medicare is in the person's IDs & Government Documents area.
Insurance agents and professional contacts are managed in so you only need to enter them once — then select them here.
School & Activities
Add school and pickup details so someone you trust can help with nurse calls, school contacts, and after-school plans if you are unavailable. · About 5 min
Leave any field blank and come back later.
How this works
Children are added in People & Contacts → first so each child has one main set of details. Then you can add school, pickup, nurse, and after-school information here.
Emergency Info
Write the first things someone should know if you cannot explain them yourself. · About 5 min
Tip: Add your family members in and your doctors and attorneys in first — this section uses that information.
Start here — fill in this order
1. Who to call first and what to do
2. Medical notes — conditions, medications, allergies
3. Where medications are kept
4. Legal documents — DNR, healthcare proxy, power of attorney
2. Medical notes — conditions, medications, allergies
3. Where medications are kept
4. Legal documents — DNR, healthcare proxy, power of attorney
Leave any field blank and come back later — fill in what you know now, and add more when you're ready.
Your emergency contacts are managed in — add them there so they appear on your Emergency Sheet.
Write anything a first responder or caregiver would need to know immediately — allergies, critical conditions, medication warnings, or care needs. This appears on your Emergency Sheet and Emergency Summary.
Even "bathroom medicine cabinet" is enough. If medications are listed in a person's health record, also note here where they're kept — a caregiver or paramedic will look here first.
Review these choices whenever the sheet's storage location changes.
Only documents saved in this household file are shown. Matching names are never linked automatically.
Important: Life on Track does not create or replace an Advance Directive, Living Will, or DNR. These are legal and medical documents. To create them, consult your doctor or a licensed attorney. This field only records where your documents are kept.
Digital Access Points
The three keys that unlock almost everything else — phone, email, and password manager. Do not record the actual PIN or password here. Record where a trusted person can find it, or give a hint only they would understand.
Where can someone you trust get into your phone? "The PIN is in 1Password" is enough.
Where is the master password or recovery key stored? A printed emergency kit card, a note in the safe, a trusted person — any of these work.
Email is often the master key — most passwords reset through it. Record where your recovery codes or backup access method lives.
AI voice-cloning scams ("it's me, I'm in trouble, send money") are now common. Security experts recommend families agree on a spoken verification phrase. Record where it's written — never the phrase itself.
Disaster Plan
What your family needs to know if phones go down, roads close, or you need to leave fast. You can print this as a separate sheet to post alongside your Emergency Sheet or keep in a go bag. · About 10 min
Leave any field blank and come back later.
Professionals
Doctors, attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, insurance agents — anyone your trusted person would need to call. · About 5 min
This is for professionals only. For family members and household contacts, use People & Contacts.
Professionals
Add anyone your trusted person might need to reach — primary doctor, specialist, attorney, CPA, financial advisor, insurance agent, and more.
Start with your primary doctor — that's the one contact your trusted person would most likely need first.
Trusted Person Plan
Name who steps in if you can't — and make sure they know this file exists and where to find it. · About 10 min
If you ever put a password on a handoff file, this person will need it from you as well — worth deciding now how you would get it to them.
Your professional contacts (doctors, advisors, attorneys) are now in Professionals in the sidebar.
Trusted Person Plan Checklist
Check each step when you're done. These confirm your trusted person is actually ready — not just named.
Let them know this file exists — send a quick note:
Good enough for today.
You've covered the essentials. A few more steps — give them the Emergency Sheet, explain how to open the backup, and open your own backup with the read-only test — will make the handoff stronger.
✅
Your trusted-person plan has the essentials recorded.
Review it once a year, or whenever something changes.
Who Is Your Trusted Person?
The person who will manage things if you can't. Choose from your People & Contacts list.
Important: Naming someone here does not grant them legal authority. It does not create a Power of Attorney, healthcare proxy, or any other legal designation. To give someone legal authority to act on your behalf, consult a licensed attorney.
Can your trusted person actually use this file?
Naming someone is only the first step. Make sure they know this file exists, where the backup is stored, and how they would open or restore it if needed.
A USB drive in a fireproof box is a good starting point. Tell your trusted person where it is in person — don't rely only on what's written here.
What does the drive or folder look like so someone can find it?
Life on Track cannot recover or reset a lost password. If your trusted person may need to open a protected backup, they must know where to find the password or this recovery card. Handoff materials are designed to include only the recovery-card location, not the password; review them before sharing.
Plain language is best. Your trusted person may be stressed when they read this. Include the app address (app.lifeontrack.store) so they aren't left guessing where to go.
Sharing plan notes (optional)
Use these names as reminders for your own sharing plan. These notes do not change what any printout or file includes. Review every copy before sharing it.
›
Sharing plan notes (optional)
Use these names as reminders for your own sharing plan. These notes do not change what any printout or file includes. Review every copy before sharing it.
Leave a written note, a voice message, or both. The written note appears at the top of the Trusted Person Packet; a voice message stays in Life on Track and your Backup Copy.
Bills & Services
Choose which bills and services to include in the handoff so your trusted person knows what may need to keep running, pause, or cancel.
Guided Setup
Life on Track
Print & Share
Turn what you've entered into something your family can actually use. Start with the Emergency Sheet, then prepare a Trusted Person Packet — on paper or saved as a PDF — or a searchable Offline Handoff File for whoever would step in.
Review before sharing. Some outputs include personal, household, medical, or financial information. Share only with people you trust.
Where to start
Start with an Emergency Sheet, then prepare a Trusted Person Packet to help someone find your information and step in to help. Owner reviews and backup tools are together under Review & Backup in the top toolbar.
Designed for visible places such as a fridge, nightstand, or wallet, with no password or account-number fields. Review it before leaving it visible.
A focused printed packet for the person who would step in. Choose what to include, preview it, then print or save as a PDF. For the complete searchable handoff, use the Offline Handoff File below.
See the read-only viewer before downloading it. Account numbers show only the last four by default. Password protection is optional unless you deliberately include full account numbers.
An owner-only copy for you to keep somewhere safe. Choose Hidden, Last 4 only, or Full where stored for account and policy numbers. Trusted-person handoffs remain last-four-only unless you deliberately create a password-protected handoff with full account numbers.
Offline Handoff File security: Full account numbers are off by default and require a password-protected handoff. A protected handoff asks you to enter the password twice, add a hint, and offers a printable password card. There is no password reset or recovery, so keep the password card separate from the handoff file.
General Notes: If you filled in General Notes, the entire note is included in the handoff. Do not place passwords, PINs, security answers, or access codes there.
Printed copies: Printing or saving an opened handoff as a PDF creates a separate copy that is not automatically password protected.
Trusted Person Packet Recommended
Create one private, review-before-sharing printed packet for the person who would step in to help. You choose the sections, preview the packet, then print it or save it as a PDF.
ForYour most trusted helper
IncludesOnly the sections you choose
PrivacyDesigned to omit passwords and PINs; account numbers last-four-only by default. Review before sharing.
My Complete Private Record Most useful
A polished, private copy of your own information in one document — choose what to include, then print it or save it as a PDF. Numbers default to the last 4, and the copy is designed to omit passwords and PINs. Review every copy before storing or sharing it. This is for you, not your trusted person — it is separate from the Offline Handoff File, which hides full account numbers by default.
For: You only — keep it somewhere safe
Printing works best from a computer or tablet. On iPhone or iPad, tap Generate to preview, then tap the Share button (□↑) and choose Print. On Android, tap the menu (⋮) and choose Print.
Print this first: the Emergency Sheet — designed for visible places without password or account-number fields; review it before leaving it visible.
For your trusted person: Emergency Summary, Trusted Person Packet, or Quick Trusted Person Summary — share only with people you trust completely.
Owner-only: Owner-only Password Record Sheet — print and store in a fireproof safe. Review it before storing, and avoid photographing or emailing it.
Four kinds of things you can make here
Trusted Person Packet — a redacted copy designed to omit passwords and full account numbers. Review it before sharing.
Offline Handoff File — a searchable read-only file. It uses last-four account numbers by default and can be password protected; full numbers require protection.
My Complete Private Record — an owner-only readable copy of your own information.
Print & Share Sections — one section, person, or task at a time, like an emergency sheet or a doctor visit sheet.
Backup Kit Printout
Print a readable instruction sheet for the person who may need to locate your backup. Download and restore the backup itself under Review & Backup in the top toolbar.
Start Here Sheet Backup Kit
A simple printable page for your trusted person — what Life on Track is, where the backup file lives, how to restore it, and what to do first. Print it and keep it with your Backup Kit.
For: Your trusted person, spouse, family member, or caregiver
Trusted Person Packet & Sharing
Redacted, safe-by-default copies for the person who would step in. Shared copies are designed to omit passwords and PINs, and account numbers show only the last four by default. Full account numbers require a deliberate password-protected Offline Handoff File. If General Notes is filled in and Documents is included, the entire note appears in the handoff. Review every copy before sharing it, and include no more than the person needs.
Not sure which to choose? Most people start with the Trusted Person Packet.
If You're Reading This — Introductory Guide Trusted person
If You're Reading This is the calm introductory heading for someone opening this packet during a hard moment. It covers who to call, where to go, and what to find. This packet cannot change your Life on Track app — it may still contain private information.
For: Spouse, adult child, trusted person, family member, caregiver
Emergency Summary Trusted person only
A detailed emergency handoff — contacts, medical notes, household details, and urgent instructions for someone helping in an emergency. More detail than the fridge sheet, intended for the trusted person to keep with them.

For: Trusted person, emergency contact, or adult family member
Where Things Are Kept Sensitive
One map of where key documents, safe deposit boxes, account statements, home keys and safes, and legal and medical directives live. It is designed to include locations rather than codes or numbers; review it before sharing with someone you trust completely.
For: Trusted person, executor, or adult family member
Print & Share Sections
One section, person, or task at a time. Check the badge on each card for how sensitive it is and where it's safe to keep.
Emergency Sheet Most useful Safe to leave visible
Print this and leave it somewhere easy to find. It shows who to call, where the Life on Track file is, and what to do first. It is designed to omit passwords, PINs, full account numbers, access codes, and Social Security numbers. Review it before sharing.
For: Anyone who finds it — fridge, nightstand, fireproof box, wallet
Emergency Wallet Card Safe to carry
Credit-card-sized. Print, cut, and carry. Name, emergency contact, backup contact, allergies if safe to share, blood type if entered, and a note that the full file is in Life on Track.
For: Yourself and your trusted person
Disaster Plan Safe to post
Meeting spots, out-of-town contact, evacuation destination, grab list, pet plan, and scenario-by-scenario guidance for fire, flood, power outage, and more. Post it alongside your Emergency Sheet.
For: Everyone in the household — fridge, bulletin board, or go bag
Doctor Visit Summary Medical summary
A one-page health summary for a doctor visit, urgent care, specialist, or hospital admission. Includes medications, conditions, allergies, and space for questions. For: Doctors, specialists, urgent care, hospital admissions, caregivers
Sitter Sheet Safe to carry
A one-page sheet for a babysitter, house-sitter, or pet-sitter — kids' routines and allergies, pet feeding and vet, house basics, and who to call. It is designed without password or code fields; review it before sharing.

From your Final Wishes & Legacy Planning and Digital Estate add-ons (fill the add-on in first). Life on Track is not a law firm and does not provide legal or medical advice. These documents do not create or replace a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive, living will, or DNR. For legally binding documents, consult a licensed attorney or healthcare provider.

For: Trusted person, executor

It is designed to omit passwords and PINs; review it before storing.
For: You — fireproof safe or locked location only
Insurance Summary Owner-only
A private summary of your insurance policies — carrier, coverage, agent, beneficiary, renewal date, and where the policy document is kept. You choose how policy numbers appear (last 4 by default; full only where you saved it). This is not a Trusted Person Packet or Offline Handoff File. It is designed to omit passwords and PINs; review it before storing.
For: You — fireproof safe or locked location only
Owner-only Password Record Sheet Print and lock up
A printable write-in sheet for recording account logins and passwords by hand. Account names are pre-filled from your Accounts list under Money & Records — you handwrite passwords after printing. Store in a fireproof safe. Never photograph or email this sheet. Includes laminating and colored-paper tips.
For: Owner — fireproof safe or locked location only.
Additional Households & Caregivers
For helping a parent, partner, or anyone you care for. Keep care routines, doctors, medications, and handoff notes together. Up to four additional household files, all inside your one Life on Track app — five households in total. No extra apps and no extra logins.
To start a separate household for someone, choose Add another household from the household switcher (the household name at the top). Care records below stay in the household you are viewing.
Final Wishes & Legacy Planning
Record where your legal documents are, what your wishes are, and what matters to you. This helps your family know where to look and what you would want — without guessing.
Leave any field blank and come back later — even a few entries make a real difference for your family.
Digital Estate
Record where your recovery information lives and what your family should do with each account. Never store passwords here — record where to find them.
Leave any field blank and come back later — record what you know now.
Hospital Plan
For a medical crisis when you can't speak for yourself. Name who makes decisions, where your documents are, what you want, and what someone should bring to the hospital. This is separate from Final Wishes & Legacy Planning and from caring for someone else. · About 10 min
Leave any field blank and come back later — even your healthcare proxy name alone is a meaningful start.
Start with this
1. Who makes medical decisions for you (healthcare proxy)
2. Who to call first
3. What to bring to the hospital
2. Who to call first
3. What to bring to the hospital
Settings
Manage preferences, privacy, and product information here. Printable records, reviews, backup, and restore are available from the two action menus in the top toolbar.
Private information defaults
Life on Track never uploads your information. Private Notes stay out of owner printouts unless you deliberately include them. My Complete Private Record uses the safer last-four display by default and asks again before showing full numbers. Trusted Person outputs remain safe-to-share by default; owner-only material is never made trusted-person material by changing Settings.
Print Defaults
Printable records and summaries are available under the printer icon in the top toolbar.
Choose the output there. Records that belong to a person stay with that person, household-shared Digital Estate information appears once in whole-household records, and information not yet assigned to anyone stays separate.
Review & Backup
Additional owner maintenance
Family Ready Review, Trusted Person Handoff Check-Up, Backup Confidence Check, Emergency Walk-Through, and Beneficiary Check-Up are under Review & Backup in the top toolbar. The two owner tools below live here rather than in the toolbar.
Backup & Privacy
Backup Defaults
Backup, restore, and readiness tools are available under Review & Backup in the top toolbar.
More than one household? Choose All Households for your regular Backup Copy, or deliberately select a smaller set. A selected-household backup does not merge when restored: it replaces the households currently on that device. The restore preview always shows what will change before anything is replaced.
💾
Auto-save is always on
Every change you make is saved automatically on this device within a second. Life on Track does not send it to a server or the cloud. Your Life on Track information stays under your control — if you store a Backup Copy or working file inside a folder your computer already syncs, such as OneDrive or iCloud Drive, those copies follow your own sync settings. A current backup lets you restore your information if this app is cleared or you move to another device.
Create a Backup Copy of all your information. A backup holds everything you recorded, including stored full account numbers and General Notes. Password protection is optional under Settings → Privacy & Protection → Password Protection. If you turn it on, Life on Track cannot recover or reset a lost password, so print the recovery card and store it separately. Protected or not, keep the backup somewhere safe — a USB drive or a secure folder on your computer. Avoid emailing an unprotected backup. If you ever need to restore your information on this device or a new one, use Restore From Backup under Review & Backup in the top toolbar.
💻
Moving to another device?
Choose one device as your main editing device. Life on Track never syncs or stores your information on our servers, so devices don't update each other automatically. To move your information, download a fresh backup here on your main editing device, then restore it on the other device. You can carry that .lot file on your own USB drive or your own cloud storage — where you keep it is your choice.
No backup created yet
Saves as a .lot file — a Life on Track Backup Copy you can restore here at any time. A .lot file won't open by double-clicking it like a normal document — that's expected. It only opens inside Life on Track, right here.
Backup or handoff? Use the .lot Backup Copy to restore every included record after device loss or when moving devices. If another person needs a readable file without restoring the app, use Print & Share → Preview Offline Handoff File. That handoff shows last-four account numbers by default; full numbers require password protection.
Keep its location findable. After each Backup Copy, Life on Track shows or asks you to confirm where it was saved. When your device lets you choose the destination, you can type a location note; on supported Android devices, the automatic location is recorded for you. You can update the note anytime in Trusted Person Plan. Life on Track cannot create a portable link to a private folder on every device, so use a description you and your trusted person will recognize. The file name usually starts with Life-on-Track-Backup.
Test opening my backup
You can safely test your backup copy without replacing household records. Life on Track shows a read-only preview; choosing Done records only that the test succeeded so your Backup Confidence status stays accurate.
File continuity
Who keeps this household file current, which device is used for updates, and whether a backup has been practiced.
Life on Track Backup Kit
A backup is most useful when someone can find it, open it, and understand what to do with it. A complete Backup Kit includes your Life on Track backup file, a way to open Life on Track, and a Start Here Sheet for your trusted person.
🔐 Password Protection
Off — your backup file is not password protected.
Optional. Add a password so the backup file you save or share can only be opened with that password. This protects the copy that leaves your device — the open app itself is not locked, so you cannot get shut out of your own records. On a shared computer, use your computer's own login password to protect the app; store backups somewhere only you can reach.
📱 App Lock
Off — anyone with this device can open the app.
Optional and off by default. Turn this on if you want a PIN screen before Life on Track opens on this device — useful on a shared computer or tablet. This is a screen lock, not encryption: it never touches your information, so if you forget the PIN you can always turn it back off without losing anything.

How to Use Life on Track
Start with the basics: who to call, where things are, what to do first, and where your backup lives. You can come back for the rest.
1. Add your people first.
2. Add your home and one important document.
3. Write the first emergency instruction.
4. Name your trusted person.
5. Generate your Emergency Sheet.
6. Create a Backup Copy and store it somewhere your trusted person can find.
Life on Track stores your information on this device. Do not store passwords, PINs, or full account access details here.

App Updates
Check this installed app for newly published files
Select Check for Updates to see whether this copy is current.
A recent Backup Copy is recommended before refreshing. Save it somewhere you can find again. Refreshing app files keeps your households on this device.
Check for Updates compares the app files on this device with the latest complete release. If new files are ready, choose Refresh Now to update this installed app. You do not need to install another copy or open a new window. No household information is sent.
What's New
Highlights in your current copy
- Opens My Household on a fresh app launch.
- Checks the latest complete app files directly and refreshes this installed app.
- Keeps your saved households and Backup Copies separate from app updates.
⚡App Frozen? How to Force-Reset
If the app ever freezes, links stop working, or colors stop changing, you can force a full reset by adding ?reset to the end of the web address. If you opened Life on Track as an installed app, first open its web address in Safari, Edge, or Chrome, then add ?reset. Example:
https://app.lifeontrack.store/?reset
This reloads fresh app files. Your information is not deleted.
Reset the Entire Life on Track File
This clears every household and all Life on Track information from the app on this device. Make sure you have a backup first. Backup Copies you have already saved stay where they are, including any in your Life on Track folder, so remove those yourself if you want nothing left on this computer.
If you haven't backed up yet, do that before clearing. A cleared file cannot be recovered without a backup.
🔒 Your Privacy
There is no Life on Track account or cloud sync. Your household information stays on this device unless you deliberately back it up, print it, export it, or share it.
When a license key is active, Life on Track may contact Lemon Squeezy to validate app access using license and device identifiers only. Household information is not part of that request.
A current backup is part of protecting your privacy. Life on Track cannot recover information from a lost device. Keep a password-protected backup in a location you control and can find later.
