Write anything a first responder or caregiver would need to know immediately — allergies, critical conditions, medication warnings, or care needs. This appears on your Emergency Sheet and Emergency Summary.
Even "bathroom medicine cabinet" is enough. If medications are listed in a person's health record, also note here where they're kept — a caregiver or paramedic will look here first.

Important: Life on Track does not create or replace an Advance Directive, Living Will, or DNR. These are legal and medical documents. To create them, consult your doctor or a licensed attorney. This field only records where your documents are kept.
Digital Access Points
The three keys that unlock almost everything else — phone, email, and password manager. Do not record the actual PIN or password here. Record where a trusted person can find it, or give a hint only they would understand.
Where can someone you trust get into your phone? "The PIN is in 1Password" is enough.
Where is the master password or recovery key stored? A printed emergency kit card, a note in the safe, a trusted person — any of these work.
Email is often the master key — most passwords reset through it. Record where your recovery codes or backup access method lives.
AI voice-cloning scams ("it's me, I'm in trouble, send money") are now common. Security experts recommend families agree on a spoken verification phrase. Record where it's written — never the phrase itself.

Important: Naming someone here does not grant them legal authority. It does not create a Power of Attorney, healthcare proxy, or any other legal designation. To give someone legal authority to act on your behalf, consult a licensed attorney.
Can your trusted person actually use this file?
Naming someone is only the first step. Make sure they know this file exists, where the backup is stored, and how they would open or restore it if needed.
USB drive in a fireproof box is a good starting point. Tell your trusted person where it is in person — don't rely only on what's written here.
What does the drive or folder look like so someone can find it?
Life on Track cannot recover or reset a lost password. If your trusted person may need to open a protected backup, they must know where to find the password or this recovery card. Handoff materials are designed to include only the recovery-card location, not the password; review them before sharing.
Plain language is best. Your trusted person may be stressed when they read this. Include the app address (app.lifeontrack.store) so they aren't left guessing where to go.

See the read-only viewer before downloading it. Account numbers show only the last four by default. Password protection is optional unless you deliberately include full account numbers.
An owner-only copy for you to keep somewhere safe. Choose Hidden, Last 4 only, or Full where stored for account and policy numbers. Trusted-person handoffs remain last-four-only unless you deliberately create a password-protected handoff with full account numbers.
Offline Handoff File security: Full account numbers are off by default and require a password-protected handoff. A protected handoff asks you to enter the password twice, add a hint, and offers a printable password card. There is no password reset or recovery, so keep the password card separate from the handoff file.
General Notes: If you filled in General Notes, the entire note is included in the handoff. Do not place passwords, PINs, security answers, or access codes there.
Printed copies: Printing or saving an opened handoff as a PDF creates a separate copy that is not automatically password protected.

Private information defaults
Life on Track never uploads your information. Private Notes stay out of owner printouts unless you deliberately include them. My Complete Private Record uses the safer last-four display by default and asks again before showing full numbers. Trusted Person outputs remain safe-to-share by default; owner-only material is never made trusted-person material by changing Settings.
Print Defaults
Printable records and summaries are available under the printer icon in the top toolbar.
Choose the output there. Person-owned records stay with their owner, household-shared Digital Estate information appears once in whole-household records, and information not yet assigned to anyone stays separate.

Backup Defaults
Backup, restore, and readiness tools are available under Review & Backup in the top toolbar.
More than one household? Choose All Households for your regular Backup Copy, or deliberately select a smaller set. A selected-household backup does not merge when restored: it replaces the households currently on that device. The restore preview always shows what will change before anything is replaced.

Auto-save is always on
Every change you make is saved automatically on this device within a second. Nothing is sent to a server or the cloud. A current backup lets you restore your information if this app is cleared or you move to another device.
Download a backup file of all your information. A backup holds everything you recorded, including stored full account numbers and General Notes. Password protection is optional under Backup Defaults. If you turn it on, Life on Track cannot recover or reset a lost password, so print the recovery card and store it separately. Protected or not, keep the backup somewhere safe — a USB drive or a secure folder on your computer. Avoid emailing an unprotected backup. If you ever need to restore your information on this device or a new one, use Restore From Backup under Review & Backup in the top toolbar.

Choose one device as your main editing device. Life on Track never syncs or stores your information on our servers, so devices don't update each other automatically. To move your information, download a fresh backup here on your main editing device, then restore it on the other device. You can carry that .lot file on your own USB drive or your own cloud storage — where you keep it is your choice.

Backup or handoff? Use the .lot Backup Copy to restore every included record after device loss or when moving devices. If another person needs a readable file without restoring the app, use Print & Share → Preview Offline Handoff File. That handoff shows last-four account numbers by default; full numbers require password protection.
Looking for your backup copy? Check your Downloads folder, Documents folder, Desktop, a USB drive, or the place you wrote down on your Start Here Sheet. The file name usually starts with Life-on-Track-Backup; keep your naming and storage-location note current so you and your trusted person can find it.
Test opening a backup copy
You can safely test your backup copy without replacing household records. Life on Track shows a read-only preview; choosing Done records only that the test succeeded so your Backup Confidence status stays accurate.
File continuity

Life on Track Backup Kit
A backup is most useful when someone can find it, open it, and understand what to do with it. A complete Backup Kit includes your Life on Track backup file, a way to open Life on Track, and a Start Here Sheet for your trusted person.
🔐 Password Protection
Off — your backup file is not password protected.
Optional. Add a password so the backup file you save or share can only be opened with that password. This protects the copy that leaves your device — the open app itself is not locked, so you cannot get shut out of your own records. On a shared computer, use your computer's own login password to protect the app; store backups somewhere only you can reach.
📱 App Lock
Off — anyone with this device can open the app.
Optional and off by default. Turn this on if you want a PIN screen before Life on Track opens on this device — useful on a shared computer or tablet. This is a screen lock, not encryption: it never touches your information, so if you forget the PIN you can always turn it back off without losing anything.

📲 Install Life on Track
Works offline · No app store needed
✅ Life on Track is installed and running in protected app mode. Its information is kept separately from the Safari browser.
On iPhone or iPad: open Life on Track in Safari, tap the Share symbol (□↑), choose Add to Home Screen, turn on Open as Web App, and tap Add. Enter information only from the installed Home Screen icon.
On Mac: open Life on Track in Safari. If you see a blue Open button, click it — the app is already installed. Otherwise use Safari's Share symbol → Add to Dock → Add, then open it from the Dock.

Refresh App Files

Finish open edits first. Life on Track will check for newer app files and reload once if it finds them. Your information is not touched.
⚡App Frozen? How to Force-Reset
If the app ever freezes, links stop working, or colors stop changing, you can force a full reset by adding ?reset to the end of the web address. If you opened Life on Track as an installed app, first open its web address in Safari, Edge, or Chrome, then add ?reset. Example:

This reloads fresh app files. Your information is not deleted.
Reset the Entire Life on Track File
This permanently deletes every household and all Life on Track information from this device. Make sure you have a backup first.
If you haven't backed up yet, do that before clearing. A cleared file cannot be recovered without a backup.
🔒 Your Privacy
There is no Life on Track account or cloud sync. Your household information stays on this device unless you deliberately create a backup, printout, or handoff file.
When a license key is active, Life on Track may contact Lemon Squeezy to validate app access using license and device identifiers only. Household information is not part of that request.
A current backup is part of protecting your privacy. Life on Track cannot recover information from a lost device. Keep a password-protected backup in a location you control and can find later.
