Your information stays on this device.
Turn on Guide Me for thoughtful prompts and next-step suggestions throughout Life on Track. Guide Me is not a field checker โ it helps you think through each area, understand what may matter, and decide what to do next. You can turn it on when you want help and turn it off anytime.
Coming Up
People & Family
Add the people and professional contacts your household may need in an emergency โ family members, caregivers, doctors, attorneys, financial advisors, and others who could help if something happened. ยท About 10โ15 min
Leave any field blank and come back later โ your information stays private on this device.
Doctors, attorneys, financial advisors, and other professionals.
Recommended first step
Who should someone call first?
Start with one person โ a spouse, sibling, close friend, or caregiver. You do not need everyone right now. Add the person who could step in if something happened today.
You can finish this section with one trusted contact and come back later.
Household
Where things are, how to get in, and who to call. Start with the address, spare key, alarm instructions, and shutoffs โ that's enough to be useful. Add vehicles, pets, and other details when you're ready. ยท About 5 min to start
Fill in what you know. Skip anything that doesn't apply โ even just the address and a spare key location makes a real difference.
Start with how someone gets in
Add your address, spare key location, alarm instructions, and utility shutoffs โ that's enough for someone to step in confidently. Add vehicles, pets, and extra details when you're ready.
Just the essentials. Takes about 5 minutes.
Documents
Record where important papers live and how your trusted person can reach them. You do not have to upload private documents. ยท About 10 min
Start with where the original is kept. Life on Track records locations and access notes โ it does not create, validate, or replace legal documents. Even "fireproof box in the office closet" is more useful than nothing.
Where are your important documents?
You do not need to upload anything. Just record where the originals are kept โ a safe, filing cabinet, attorney's office, or trusted person's home.
Start with one document. Takes about 3 minutes.
Finances & Accounts
This is not about balances. It is a private map of who to call, where statements live, and what accounts exist. Do not record passwords, PINs, or full account numbers here. ยท About 20 minutes for a complete map.
Start with who to call
No balances needed. Add your main bank, life insurance, and retirement or investment accounts first. This gives your family the map they need in a crisis.
Tip: Use only partial account numbers or "last 4 digits" when helpful.
Dates & Renewals
Track passports, licenses, registrations, insurance renewals, warranties, and other dates that are easy to miss. Life on Track shows what is coming up on your dashboard when you open the app โ no automatic reminders, so check back whenever you need to. ยท About 10 minutes
Add what matters to you โ skip anything that doesn't apply. Even a few entries will help Life on Track show what is coming up on your dashboard.
Insurance
A simple overview of your policies โ life, health, home, auto, umbrella, and more. Record who the insurer is, where the policy is kept, and who your agent is. Like everything in Life on Track, it points to where things live โ it never holds account numbers or anything sensitive. ยท About 10 min
Add the policies you have and skip the rest. Even your life and home policies are a great start.
Insurance agents and professional contacts are managed in so you only need to enter them once โ then select them here.
Children & School
Add school and pickup details so someone you trust can help with nurse calls, school contacts, and after-school plans if you are unavailable. ยท About 5 min
Leave any field blank and come back later.
Emergency Info
Write the first things someone should know if you cannot explain them yourself. ยท About 5 min
Tip: Add your family members in and your doctors and attorneys in first โ this section uses that information.
2. Medical notes โ conditions, medications, allergies
3. Where medications are kept
4. Legal documents โ DNR, healthcare proxy, power of attorney
Leave any field blank and come back later โ fill in what you know now, and add more when you're ready.
Your emergency contacts are managed in โ add them there so they appear on your Emergency Sheet.
Write anything a first responder or caregiver would need to know immediately โ allergies, critical conditions, medication warnings, or care needs. This appears on your Emergency Sheet and Detailed Emergency Pack.
Even "bathroom medicine cabinet" is enough. If medications are listed in a person's health record, also note here where they're kept โ a caregiver or paramedic will look here first.
Important: Life on Track does not create or replace an Advance Directive, Living Will, or DNR. These are legal and medical documents. To create them, consult your doctor or a licensed attorney. This field only records where your documents are kept.
The three keys that unlock almost everything else โ phone, email, and password manager. Do not record the actual PIN or password here. Record where a trusted person can find it, or give a hint only they would understand.
Where can someone you trust get into your phone? "The PIN is in 1Password" is enough.
Where is the master password or recovery key stored? A printed emergency kit card, a note in the safe, a trusted person โ any of these work.
Email is often the master key โ most passwords reset through it. Record where your recovery codes or backup access method lives.
Disaster & Evacuation Plan
What your family needs to know if phones go down, roads close, or you need to leave fast. You can print this as a separate sheet to post alongside your Emergency Sheet or keep in a go bag. ยท About 10 min
Leave any field blank and come back later.
Professional Contacts
Doctors, attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, insurance agents โ anyone your trusted person would need to call. ยท About 5 min
This is for professionals only. For family members and household contacts, use People & Family.
Start with your primary doctor โ that's the one contact your trusted person would most likely need first.
Trusted Person Plan
Name who steps in if you can't โ and make sure they know this file exists and where to find it. ยท About 10 min
Your professional contacts (doctors, advisors, attorneys) are now in Professional Contacts in the sidebar.
Let them know this file exists โ send a quick note:
Important: Naming someone here does not grant them legal authority. It does not create a Power of Attorney, healthcare proxy, or any other legal designation. To give someone legal authority to act on your behalf, consult a licensed attorney.
USB drive in a fireproof box is a good starting point. Tell your trusted person where it is in person โ don't rely only on what's written here.
What does the drive or folder look like so someone can find it?
Plain language is best. Your trusted person may be stressed when they read this.
Sharing & Distribution Details (optional)
Choose who receives each document. Most people skip this โ come back when you're ready.

Guided Setup
Print & Share
Turn what you've entered into something your family can actually use. Start with the Emergency Sheet โ then prepare a Trusted Person Packet for whoever would step in.
Review before sharing. Some outputs include personal, household, medical, or financial information. Share only with people you trust.
These three cover 90% of what your family needs. The Emergency Sheet is safe to leave anywhere. The Trusted Person Packet gives your trusted person everything to act on your behalf. The Backup Copy protects your file.
๐พ Backup tip: A backup is how you keep your own file safe โ separate from printing. Download a backup copy and store it on a USB stick or private cloud folder. Tell your trusted person where it lives. The Download My Backup Copy button in Start Here covers this.
Printing works best from a computer or tablet. On iPhone or iPad, tap Generate to preview, then tap the Share button (โกโ) and choose Print. On Android, tap the menu (โฎ) and choose Print.
Print this first: the Emergency Sheet โ safe to leave visible, no passwords or account numbers.
For your trusted person: Detailed Emergency Pack, Trusted Person Packet, or Trusted Person Summary โ share only with people you trust completely.
Owner-only: Password & Account Record Sheet โ print and store in a fireproof safe. Never photograph or email it.
Safe to Leave Visible
No passwords, PINs, or account numbers. Safe for the fridge, a go bag, your wallet, or anywhere easy to find.
For Your Trusted Person
Sensitive handoff documents for the person you trust most. Share carefully โ these contain household, planning, and emergency details. Do not include more than this person needs.
Not sure which to choose? Most people start with the Trusted Person Packet.
Medical & Care
Summaries for care conversations, appointments, and caregiving handoffs. Not medical advice โ a summary of information you entered to support care coordination.
Summaries from your Final Wishes and Digital Estate add-ons. These require the relevant add-on to be filled in first.
Important: Life on Track is not a law firm and does not provide legal or medical advice. These documents do not create or replace a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive, living will, or DNR. For legally binding documents, consult a licensed attorney or healthcare provider.
Owner Only
Print and store securely. Do not photograph, email, or leave visible. Share only after careful, deliberate decision.
Additional Households & Caregiving
For helping a parent, partner, or anyone you care for. Keep care routines, doctors, medications, and handoff notes in one place.
Final Wishes & Legacy
Record where your legal documents are, what your wishes are, and what matters to you. This helps your family know where to look and what you would want โ without guessing.
Leave any field blank and come back later โ even a few entries make a real difference for your family.
Digital Estate
Record where your recovery information lives and what your family should do with each account. Never store passwords here โ record where to find them.
Leave any field blank and come back later โ record what you know now.
If I'm in the Hospital
For a medical crisis when you can't speak for yourself. Name who makes decisions, where your documents are, what you want, and what someone should bring to the hospital. This is separate from Final Wishes and from caring for someone else. ยท About 10 min
Leave any field blank and come back later โ even your healthcare proxy name alone is a meaningful start.
2. Who to call first
3. What to bring to the hospital
Settings
Start by protecting your file with a backup, then manage preferences and get help. Your data never leaves this device.
Download a backup file of all your information. Save it somewhere safe โ a USB drive, your computer, or email it to yourself. If you ever need to restore your information on this device or a new one, come back here and choose "Restore My Backup Copy."
Last backup: Never
Saves as a .lot file โ a Life on Track backup you can restore here anytime.
A backup is most useful when someone can find it, open it, and understand what to do with it. A complete Backup Kit includes your Life on Track backup file, a way to open Life on Track, and a Start Here Sheet for your trusted person.
Optional. Add a password so the backup file you save or share can only be opened with that password. This protects the copy that leaves your device โ the open app itself is not locked, so you cannot get shut out of your own records. On a shared computer, use your computer's own login password to protect the app; store backups somewhere only you can reach.
Optional and off by default. Turn this on if you want a PIN screen before Life on Track opens on this device โ useful on a shared computer or tablet. This is a screen lock, not encryption: it never touches your data, so if you forget the PIN you can always turn it back off without losing anything.
Received a code? Enter it here.
Enter your code here to apply it.
App Preferences
Switch between light and dark mode. Your preference is saved to this device.
โ Life on Track is installed on this device and running in app mode. You're all set!
On iPhone or iPad: tap the Share button (โกโ) in Safari, then choose Add to Home Screen. Life on Track will appear as an app icon and work offline.
On Android: tap the menu (โฎ) in Chrome, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
Review your information once a year โ doctors, contacts, accounts, and documents. Life changes, and this should too. When you're done, mark it here so Life on Track knows you're up to date.
Help & Support
Reopen the starting page anytime โ to remember what to focus on first, or to show someone else how Life on Track works. It will not reset anything or clear your data.
Guide Me helps you think through each area of your household. It may suggest what to consider, what to do next, when to back up, and how to handle sensitive information.
Guide Me does not check every field or require you to complete everything. You can turn it on or off anytime.
Start with the basics: who to call, where things are, what to do first, and where your backup lives. You can come back for the rest.
Life on Track stores your information on this device. Do not store passwords, PINs, or full account access details here.
Life on Track is not a law firm and does not provide legal or medical advice. It does not create or replace a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive, living will, or DNR. For these documents, consult a licensed attorney or healthcare provider.
Plain-English answers for the moments that matter โ a new or lost device, finding your backup, what happens without one, and how to get help when something doesn't work as expected.
If a family member or trusted person is accessing this household in an emergency, they can open a read-only view designed just for them โ with the first steps, key contacts, and where things are.
We'd love to hear from you. If something feels unclear, is missing, or works especially well, let us know.

Advanced & Troubleshooting
For your protection, Life on Track requires a backup before installing updates. When a newer version is available, you will be asked to back up first โ this helps make sure your family file can be restored if anything changes during the update.
Click Check for Updates any time to see if a newer version is available. This sends a small, one-way request to see the latest version number โ nothing you have entered in Life on Track is ever sent or received.
You can also check lifeontrack.store any time for news about updates.
If something looks wrong or a new update isn't showing, tap Reload Now. This reloads the latest app files on this device. Your data is not affected.
If the app ever freezes, links stop working, or colors stop changing, you can force a full reset by adding ?reset to the end of the app URL in your browser. Example:
This clears the app cache and reloads fresh files. Your data is never deleted โ only the app code refreshes.
This permanently deletes your Life on Track information from this device. Make sure you have a backup first.
If you haven't backed up yet, do that before clearing. A cleared file cannot be recovered without a backup.
Life on Track was built so your private family information stays with you. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no Life on Track server holding your data. Everything you enter lives on this device unless you choose to download a backup or print or share an output.
If you lose your device and do not have a backup copy, Life on Track cannot recover the information. That privacy is intentional โ your information stays with you. Download a backup copy and keep it somewhere safe.
